TestAmerica's national network of environmental laboratories provides a full range of analyses for trace level organic, inorganic, radiological contaminants and air emissions. TesAmerica had made considerable progress in automating their laboratory in Nashville using a commercial laboratory information management (LIM) package. Customer required electronic data deliverable (EDD) report generation had worked quite well within the framework of the standard LIM system's reporting module with the exception of two particularly important governmental formats.
Bill Waddell visited the site and proposed various phases for creation of programs to convert LIM system generated parameter files to client-specific EDD formats. Although the proposal was scaled back by management, sufficient progress was made to optimize the report generation process of these critical EDD reports.
